Art Educators Network Workshop

Please join area art teachers for a day of learning and creating.  Topics for the day include:

Morning Session:  Mandalas with Facilitator Pat Jones
A mandala is simply art created within the shape of a circle. But when the circle is a safe container for holding symbols of feelings and events, the mandala can become a deeply personal expression of the self.  In the morning workshop, we will explore the
significance of simple shapes and symbols, colors, and numbers, while painting a watercolor mandala.  There will be ample time to discuss the finished product, and process the experience.

Afternoon Session:  Lorinda Rice, Lincoln Public Schools Art Curriculum Specialist
Lorinda’s role as supervisor has allowed for in-depth learning of the National and new Nebraska Fine Arts Standards and how to assist teachers with implementation and alignment of these standards.

All necessary materials will be supplied.  If you prefer using your own watercolors and brushes, you may bring them.  You may also bring Sharpie markers and colored pencils if you’d like.
