NDE Educator Effectiveness Evaluation Development Grant Training  


Goal/Purpose: The goal of this grant is to help local school districts update or enhance their existing teacher evaluation processes.   The training provided through the grant provides assistance with aligning formal staff evaluation processes to the Nebraska Teacher and Principal Performance Framework. Participants will receive specific information on the Nebraska models for teacher evaluation including the components of evaluating effective classroom and professional practices, measuring student growth and establishing plans for ongoing professional growth.

Requirements: Grant recipients will be required to designate a team of at least 5 participants of which at least one must be an administrator, and 3 must be classroom teachers.  The fourth participant is a local decision. Districts may also designate additional staff for participation in the training opportunity. 

Awardees will be required to attend one two-day training\work session. 

Grant recipients will be required to adopt the Nebraska Teacher and Principal Performance Framework as the basis of their evaluation system and to develop implementation plans for their local district for the 2017-18 school year.

Training Location and Dates: July 7-8 – ESU 10 Kearney

Teams are eligible to attend at any site but must participate as a team.
