Are you wondering how to improve students’ writing? Are you wondering how to get kids excited about writing? Former Classroom Teacher and current UNK Professor, Dena Harshbarger, will help you do just that!
Participants will…
• Become familiar with and/or refresh teaching methods associated with effective writing (The Write Traits: Ideas and Content, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions)
• Engage in practical, hands-on writing activities that can be used with students in the classroom
• Have the opportunity to assess students’ writing
• Learn how to provide formative feedback and set goals to improve student writing
