Assessment: How Do We Know They’re Learning with Dr. Marcia Tate

If you wait until you have planned your lesson to decide how you will assess it, you have actually waited too long! Once you have decided what you want students to know and be able to do, the second question becomes, how will I know when they have mastered the essential learning. Whether they are called multiple intelligences or gifts, students come to class with many different ways of knowing.

This highly-engaging workshop will deal with both traditional and more authentic forms for assessing a student’s way of knowing since both forms should be included in a student’s overall portfolio. Leave this session with over 50 products and performances for assessing student learning – all while simultaneously having fun!
