The Greater Nebraska Educational Network Consortium (GNENC)
is made up of ESU's 10, 11, 13, 15 & 16 who have come together to
consolidate technology resources and services to save time, money and provide
more reliable, scalable services to meet our school district needs.
Each ESU Administrator serves on the consortium's governing board and determines the direction of the consortium. The advisory committee made up of technical staff from each ESU plans, recommends and
maintains budgets, equipment and services throughout the year. ESU 10
acts as the fiscal agency and employs two full-time staff to maintain the
equipment and services. Each ESU also brings their unique expertise and
experience into every project to help foster great ideas and discussion that
lead to more reliable and scalable technology services for our member school
districts.
The current services offered include, email hosting with
SPAM and virus checking, web filtering, off-site storage, blog and website
hosting, and DNS services. In the fall of 2011, districts choosing to use
our new services will receive a suite of on-line, digital tools for teachers
and learners including an eLearning portal, learning management system,
e-portfolio, Google Apps for Education, and a document repository.
