Media Library Catalog and Power Media Plus

In 2003 the Educational Service Unit 10 technology staff created a user-friendly online Media Library Catalog to help teachers enhance their curriculum by providing multimedia material free to all ESU 10 district schools.  The material is ordered online by the teacher and is delivered to their school on a weekly basis. The ESU 10 Library consists of 8,000+ videos & DVDs, hundreds of kits, books, models, and two Star Lab Planetariums.

The state coop Instructional Materials affiliate (IMat) purchased a statewide annual license from Power Media Plus® which is owned and operated by Discovery®.  That license is projected to continue until 2011. This is an online video streaming site that will give instant visual aid to any classroom. The rich media collection features all media types—3,500 videos; 23,000 core concept clips; 6,000 audio files, including speeches, audio books, and music; 25,000 educational photos, clip art images, and illustrations; and 5,000 print resources, as well as a databank of 15,000 quiz questions and 1,000 pre-made quizzes. You'll also enjoy a safe space for publishing and locating educational podcasts. All this is free to use in the classroom and is correlated to Nebraska standards.
