PowerSchool Sharing Sessions for those who use PowerSchool to maintain stud ent and/or staff data as well as the many other features of PowerSchool. Ea ch meeting covers different topics and are lead by PS leaders in the state. Not only do participants learn new information, they also share with one another PS tips and techniques.

Special Education Summer Institute Day 1-Tech for Beginners

This day is for the novice tech user. Specifically, it will focus o n technology that will align with student needs and goals as well as enhanc e student learning in the classroom. A portion of the day will be sp ent utilizing iPads and the remainder with computers (both PC and Mac) with opportunities for hands on sharing and practice.

Special Education Summer Institute Day 2 - Advanced Tech

This day is for the experienced tech user. This day will be more dis cipline specific and move at a faster pace, but will also focus on technol ogy that will align with student needs and goals as well as enhance student learning in the classroom. Learn what audiology & de af education services are offered to you and your students and understand h ow to appropriately access audiology & deaf education services.

Gain an understanding of how different levels of deaf ness may impact the student's education. Gain knowledge of accommoda tions that are available for students who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Have a basic knowledge of how to interpret audiolo gy result/report information.

Best Practice: IFSP, & IEP procedures-communication concerns and education choices. What can you do af ter a child is identified with a hearing loss, what we can do to help?

SLPs "Practicing" Best Practice

Explore a nd revise procedures, forms and interventions for ESU 10's new Problem Sol ving for Articulation Process.

Standardize ESU 10's Sp eech Language Assessment Battery by documenting pros and cons of various sp eech language tests (reliability and validity, administration time, addit ional needs, support for establishing goals, availability, etc.)

Discuss ways SLPs can support a pre-referral problem solving proces s for students with speech language concerns through participation in RtI a ctivities and SAT. This might include helping staff and parents deve lop appropriate interventions, collecting formative and anecdotal data, a s well as providing brief structured interventions.

Compliance (AM)- Special Education Rules and Regulations Revisited-& nbsp; This training is part of an ongoing effort to keep people cur rent on best practices in following the rules and regulations set forth in Rule 51 and the verification guidelines.Goal Writing (PM)- This afte rnoon we will be working on foundational skills for writing measurable goal s. On the second day, we will be working on writing practice goals. We will also be writing rubrics to be used for data collection on g oals that are more subjective.
